    Hajjo at a glance

    A tailoring house from Syria, making in Cairo and Homs.

    Four companies share one factory, one way of making and one name. Each one sells to a different person: the factory makes for other brands, Bolmandi sells what the factory makes to the trade, Nile Wool supplies the cloth, and Hajjo 1991 sells to the man who wears it.

    A retail and B2B textile house, manufacturing and distributing finished garments and the cloth they are cut from, and exclusive distributor in Africa for Drago, one of the finest mills in Italy. Orders are invoiced in Egyptian pounds, euros or dollars.

    Making is our legacy. Everything the Group does starts on the same cutting table.

    “Mohamad Hajjo did not build factories to make money. He built them so people in Homs could work. He was the first garment manufacturer in the city, and every line he opened was a door for someone else.”

      In the words of our Chief Executive.

      Mission

      “We want to keep growing so we can keep opening the door to more people. Whoever comes to work with us joins the family, and every store we open, and every line we add in the factory, means one more home living from this work.

      And every piece we make has to be good. Our family name is on the label. If the product is not right, then it is our name that is not right.”

      “We want our products sold all over the world, and we want people to buy them for one reason: nobody makes them better. Quality is the thing we compete on.

      It began as a Syrian family trade, and we believe it can stand with the biggest names in the world, and take a few thousand people with it, as part of the family.”

      History

      Sixty six years on the same cutting table.

      Mohamad Hajjo was the first garment manufacturer in Homs. A contract workshop became a factory, then a name on the high street, then a house of four, and every step kept the making in the family’s own hands.

      1. 1960

        Mohamad Hajjo opens the first workshop in Homs, cutting and making for other houses.

      2. 1991

        Hajjo begins selling to the public under its own name.

      3. 2020

        The Homs plant reopens: 13,500 m² and 650 people.

      4. 2022

        The Egypt plant opens at Obour City, Cairo.

      5. 2026

        Hajjo Apparel, Bolmandi and Hajjo 1991 at Cairo Fashion and Tex, 2 to 4 October.
